Origins of the Isaac Carter Chapter
Beyond the series, Debra authored the article, “Isaac Carter, Forgotten Patriot of Clubfoot and Cahooque Creeks, Craven County, North Carolina,” for the Journal of the Society of the First African Families in English America, which detailed the life of her husband’s 3rd great-grandfather, and provided a 5-generation genealogy for his lineage. Guided by her motto, “extraordinary stories of ordinary people,” she is currently working on the second volume of the Forgotten Patriots series, focusing on the Mid-Atlantic Theater. She is also crafting a dual-timeline novel set in 1890 and 1990 Northampton, Massachusetts, exploring the intersection of a German immigrant family and a Jewish-Christian family dealing with grief and loss.
